Hello!
I’m Ka’el, a photographer based in Portland, Oregon.
My love for making pictures started when I was 15, spending long hours in my high school darkroom experimenting with film and capturing candid moments of friends and family. Long before digital took over, I carried a disposable or Polaroid camera everywhere, always documenting the small pieces of life that mattered to me.
That same love still drives my work today. I’m drawn to stories, whether it’s the emotion in a portrait, the energy of a musician on stage, the identity of a brand, or the quiet moments I notice out in the world. I enjoy collaboration, and building creative projects with others is one of my favorite parts of photography.
Travel also inspires me. Exploring new places and learning from different cultures shapes how I see and photograph the world. I aim to make images that feel both personal and universal.
